Nexus Issues
Issue II
The second issue, presented at the 2025 Duke Kunshan University Annual Humanities Research Center Conference, expanded to nine articles from five institutions, bringing together voices that examine the intersections of policy, identity, and ecology across the Global South. Each contribution offers a distinct perspective on how societies adapt, resist, and create within shifting global contexts.
Issue I
Our inaugural Issue, presented at the 2024 annual Humanities Research Center Conference at Duke Kunshan University (with congratulatory remarks from the center’s co-directors and the Vice Chancellor of the institution), features five articles and an original photo essay on rural-urban transition from the editorial board.

Nexus is published annually. Issues I and II both were launched at the Duke Kunshan University Humanities Research Center Conference (April 2024 and 2025).

All submissions go through a multi-stage editorial process that includes internal review and feedback from the Nexus editorial board. Selection is based on originality, clarity, contribution to the issue’s theme, and potential for cross-regional insight.

Any current undergraduate or a master’s student who has independently produced an original research paper on issues pertaining to the Global South. We welcome all fields, with a particular focus on the humanities.
